Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held once every year, during the season when the tulips bloom. Excited us headed there on the very first day it opened and the tulips were nothing short of amazing! However, I think it would be better to head there when the event is about to end as there were tulips that were still undeveloped when we were there. We purchased our tickets at the booth, as shown in the picture below.

There were many tents around selling unique items!

There's an open space for us to enjoy our food and listen to songs originating from Holland too!

Along the way, we saw many pretty flowers in the garden!

We then proceeded to the open field filled with tulips! As mentioned earlier, we probably attended this event too early hence many tulips had not been developed yet! Nonetheless, we were thankful to see a few stretches of tulips blooming beautifully.

You may choose to purchase tickets to get a ride around the field while a tour guide provides more information about the place to you!

 

Do not miss the Tesselaar Tulip Festival if you are in Melbourne in September or October! :) 

If you are a fan of roses and happen to be in Melbourne in November, you might want to visit Victoria State of Roses. I haven't been there before but I'll definitely give it a go if I happen to visit Melbourne during that period of time in future!

Puffing Billy Railway (Melbourne, Australia)

Puffing Billy Railway is the most popular steam train in Australia! It operates everyday, except on Christmas. I have been yearning to ride this and I finally got the chance to do so! Doesn't it reminds you of Harry Potter? The best part about this ride is that we are allowed to leave our legs dangling over the side of the carriage!

Before heading down, remember to check the timing it departs or arrives at the various stations so that you can plan your trip! Apparently, the schedule from 1 Oct 2016 to 30 April 2017 is available at its website already!

J & I drove to Puffing Billy Railway and bought the tickets at the counter there! We travelled from Belgrave station to Lakeside station to have our lunch, took a stroll around the park and headed back to Belgrave station again. Here are the photographs!

We parked our car behind as there was no available parking lots near the main entrance. It was the person at the ticket booth who told us about this FREE parking space! It is quite hard to spot it so keep your eyes wide open if you intend to drive here!

We were here in September so this is the time table we followed.

Upon reaching our destination, we headed into the shop to have our lunch!

This eatery sells a pretty wide range of food, from chips to sandwiches to burgers and pizzas too!

Time for a walk around the vicinity while waiting for our train to arrive!
