4D3N in Shanghai, China.

Shanghai (上海)
View from my hotel room

Day 3

Continuing from my previous post (2D2N in Hangzhou & Wuzhen), J & I travelled to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station from Hangzhou East Railway Station in the morning. We were hoping that our next hotel stay will be a better one and thankfully, it was so much better than before!

Shanghai Bund South China Harbour View Hotel

Address: 53 Huangpu Road (Huangpu Lu) Hongkou District Shanghai, China.
Tel: +86-21-56660808

I must say that I love the location of my hotel, which is near the harbourWaibaidu bridge and East Nanjing Road shopping area! Their service was excellent and I really love my stay there. :)

Their facilities.

I love their toilet, especially the 2 large full length mirrors and the 2 wardrobes placed opposite each other
(shown in two of the photographs below)!

There is an exact same wardrobe opposite (on the left of the picture).

Selfie.

Lastly, the harbour view!

On a foggy day.

Night view. Love it!!

Here is what we had for breakfast for the 3 days!

City view from our breakfast venue and the harbour view shown below.

I don't mind returning back to this hotel for my future trips here! :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We decided to walk to East Nanjing Road shopping district and explore the place. The lights and buildings are so pretty. I fell in love with them immediately!

The largest Zara I've ever seen! <3

My hotel.

Waibaidu Bridge.

Day 4

Finally, time to go to Jackie Chan Film Museum! We took the train from East Nanjing Road metro station to Xinzha Road metro station and did quite a bit of walking.  I've been a fan of his movies since young and I can never get bored watching them repeatedly.

Random view along the way.

Jackie Chan Film Museum (成龙电影艺术馆)

Address: No. 525 Daduhe Road, Shanghai, China
Opening hours: (Tues - Sun) 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.
Admission: (Adult) 158RMB (Child) 79RMB
Tel: 60403232

This museum displays hundreds of costumes and props which Jackie Chan, a Hong Kong-born celebrity, used in his movies. It is actually built inside a revamped factory and is designed along the theme 'China symbol, Kung Fu star, Charity Ambassador'.

The props displayed definitely brought back many memories! I shall let the photos do the talking. Do you recognize any of them?

I love this!

Jackie Chan's outfits.

Clapperboards used in his classical works - Project A and The Police Story

The headdress used in the movie - Shanghai Noon

I got to know more about Jackie Chan's life story - how he started acting, filming, his family, etc. It's really interesting and inspiring. :) I'll mention a little in this post, so that I won't be a spoiler to those who are intending to visit this place!

Jackie Chan's parents.

Jackie Chan had a strict father and a loving mother. Before he flew overseas at the age of 16, his father told him to promise him 3 things that he should never do - no joining of gangs, no drugs and no gambling, which lead him to the right path in his life. At the age of 4, Jackie Chan started learning Kung Fu from his father.

& we went into the dressing room. :D

Can I pass off as an opera performer? :D

Next movie: Rush Hour

Ready... and... action!

Bang!

Films for Jackie Chan's movies.

Jackie Chan's living space below his office.

So cute!

In almost all the films that Jackie Chan produce, he inputs his philosophy of how he views the society, as shown in the photograph below. I felt enlightened after looking through some of them.

Messages from actors/actresses to Jackie Chan.

Liam Neeson!! I also hope that both of them will work with each other one day! :D

With President Obama.

Letters from his fans.

This is just a section of the amount of awards he received thus far! I got a shock when I saw the entire collection of trophies!

Lastly, the souvenir shop.

I really love this place and if you're a fan of his, you should totally come and explore this place! :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, we spent the night waiting for the light up of The Bund and appreciating the unique architectures of Shanghai.

My favourite architecture! I love how sophisticated and unique it looks, especially with the lightings.

DAY 5

We decided to go to The Bund for some shopping and hence, we took The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel to get across the river!

The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel (观光隧道)

Entrances: 300 Zhongshan East First Road (Puxi) and 2789 Binjiang Road (Pudong)
Opening hours: 8.00 a.m. - 10.00 p.m.
Admission: (Round trip) RMB70

This tunnel, 646.7 metres long, connects The Bund and Lujaizui area of Pudong District. We took approximately 4 minutes to get from one end to the other end. The tunnel changes its music and lightings as we pass through it.

The different combinations of tickets and pricing.

Photography services.

& we got one of the photos above!

The train.

I took 2 videos for this ride (one at the entrance and one for the entire journey), as shown below!

Well, I would say that it helps to make our journey less boring but it probably isn't worth making a special trip down just for this. It's a good transportation mode across the river though so get here if you want to get to the Bund!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After exiting, we're finally at The Bund!

The rest of the day was spent shopping and on the last day, we took a flight back to Singapore! :)

Out of the 3 provinces that we went (Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuzhen), our favourite was Shanghai! Shall explore the other parts of China in future! Goodbye!

Love,
CY
